DIPLOMACY IN MOTION: June 05, 2010: 6-9PM
June 5th the International Hospitality Council of Austin will host its 2nd annual fundraising event in honor of its 50th anniverary. "Diplomacy in Motion" is an international train ride through the Texas Hill Country and is intended to promote peace and understanding of cultures throughout Texas and the world. The air conditioned train is pulled by Austin Steam Train's 1960 Alco Engine. Passengers will enjoy the sights and sounds of the railroad as we cross highways, span the South San Gabriel River, and roll through pastureland, while enjoying the food and festivities happening throughout the vintage passenger cars. This fun-filled scenic route through the Hill Country is three hours roundtrip. The train will depart for Bertram, TX from the Cedar Park Train Depot at 6pm and return at approximately 9pm. A portion of the proceeds will go to our international student scholarship program. What a great way to learn about other cultures, enjoy the beautiful Texas Hill Country, and contribute to a great cause! Ticket prices: $40-$75 Space is limited! First Class sells out quickly.
