Vision
The International Hospitality Council of Austin is the acknowledged leader for providing services to international students and visitors in Central Texas. IHCA funds are earmarked primarily for scholarship focused on projects that increase international understanding and promote peace among nations. The IHCA Board and its Advisors consist of highly motivated community leaders with an internationalist outlook. IHCA interacts harmoniously with those local institutions and corporations with firm international links.

Mission

The International Hospitality Council of Austin will strengthen international bonds and friendships by providing a forum to exchange ideas and will also achieve cultural symbiosis through training programs, community activities and via host families. The IHCA will focus on three international groups: : students, government representatives and business leaders.

Strategies

  1. Interface with other locally based institutions that have a global focus.: For example: universities, corporations, chambers of commerce, city and state governments,sister cities of Austin, and other based hospitality councils..
  2. Maintain financial self-sufficiency through fund raising, membership dues, and investment portfolio returns.
  3. Ensure that the Board of Directors reflects the sectors it is designed to serve.
  4. Strengthen community visibility through awareness campaigns
  5. Continually update the host family database.
